Fundraising efforts for the 2010 Houston Cat Club Annual Charity Cat Show has officially started.  As Fundraising Coordinator, I am excited about sharing my plans to increase revenue for our Houston Cat Club (HCC) and its respective upcoming 58th Annual Charity Cat Show.  Please send me your ideas as well.  Your suggestion(s) should not cost the HCC any out-of-pocket expenses.

Committee members needed to identify prospects and help address envelopes.  Beth Weiser and Kate Brusegaard have offered. Any one else?

1.  GETTING THE WORD OUT
*The attached Word document (6 pages) is the approved fundraising letter about the various sponsorship and donor levels, advertising rates, and their respective forms.   (Downloadable as .pdf file here: 2010 Fundraiser.pdf

**Think about participating in at least one of the venues:
Example (1): ring sponsorship-single business or two businesses share a sponsorship
Example (2): ads--great Member rates for advertising your company/business or submit a story and picture of your cat(s)

***Contact me with your referrals of prospective donors, sponsors, and advertisers.  This will help eliminate duplication.  Plus, I need to keep a record.

2.  Businesses owned by HCC Members Donate a Percentage of Proceeds
*Feature HCC Member businesses for fundraising campaigns (could be one or two at a time).  You decide on the percentage of proceeds to donate to the Houston Cat Club.

**Member businesses added to the Houston Cat Club website

***Send me (kyr709@hotmail.com) your business contact info, email address, website (if any), a brief description of the business, and the percentage rate for the Houston Cat Club.

3.  Author Book Signing
*Featured authors:  Amy Shojai, Carole Nelson Douglas, and Dusty Rainbolt

**Waldenbooks will donate 20% of the net proceeds from the sale of these authors' books, calendars, bookmarks, and other items.

***Get the word out to those you know.  A list of their books will be sent at a later date.

4.  Book Sale
*Start putting aside items for this.  See list in attached document.

5.  Raffle Table
*Start putting aside items for this.  See list in attached document.

6.  Monetary Donations
*Let me know if anyone you know wants to make a monetary donation (up to $50) to the Houston Cat Club.

**Hosting a Garage Sale or Estate Sale?  Donate a percentage of the proceeds to the Houston Cat Club.

7.  Exhibitors Needed
*Help increase show registrations of pedigreed cats and household pets (HHP) by identifying potential exhibitors.

**Will you show your cat(s)?

***The 2010 HHP Coordinator is Kathryn Berg (kapberg@aol.com).  She is forming a committee.  Contact Kathryn if you are interested and CC me (kyr709@hotmail.com).

Thank you for your time and support of the Houston Cat Club!

Best Regards,
Keitha
